Besides prohibiting cruelty, the Nevada State Law requires that animals receive adequate food, fresh water and shelter from the elements. Effective October 1, 2009, dogs cannot be chained more than 14 hours out of a 24 hour day and a minimum of a 12 foot chain must be used.

If you witness a case of animal abuse/neglect/chaining please report it to the Animal Control agency in your jurisdiction. Before calling, have the exact address of the abuse case, the party's name if possible and any facts pertinent to the case, including the date and time the abuse took place.
